The first of the Te Tauihu Winter Series meets will be hosted by Onetahua Waka Ama Club over in Golden Bay on Sunday 24th July.
The long trip over Takaka Hill usually necessitates either a very early start on Sunday or an overnight on Saturday. It’s always a fantastic occasion with a very warm welcome from our hosts so it would be great to take a sizeable Maitahi contingent to support the event.
We will need to know numbers as soon as possible, so a club wide Teamer invitation has gone out. When we have some idea of who is going we will need to find somebody to tow our waka and somebody to organise club crews on race day. Quite a few people who usually stick their hands up for these roles will be away at World Championships so it’s a good chance for some new blood to step forward !
