Whakatū Marae Waka Ama Club held their annual fundraiser at the beach today in some testing water conditions for new paddlers. It was well organsied and 12 teams took part, most were first time paddlers. Each waka crew of 5 was assigned an experienced steerer who was not supposed to paddle (just steer).
Primal Fit put in a mixed crew and a womens crew. The womens crew had 3 complete novices along with Anya and Jan from Maitahi. They won the womens final.
