Paddling the OC12s back from Anchorage

We sometimes get a call from Todd and Lee-Anne at Waka Abel Tasman to help relocate waka if they have dropped groups off in the Abel Tasman National Park and need the waka bought back. Its amazing how many Maitahi members can ‘reorganise’ their work day and help out.

Tuesday saw 12 paddlers from Maitahi helping to bring back three OC12s from Anchorage to Kaiteriteri. It is a great experience. The day was perfect, still and clear and sunny. A typical day in the Abel Tasman National Park.

Its never too late to start paddling waka ama

We always welcome new members to the Maitahi Outrigger Canoe Club.
We have social and racing waka ama crews catering for a wide variety of ages and abilities.

We have Junior Rangatahi crews (school aged children) right through to Masters 70s paddlers (over 70s).
