A unique race, organised by Maitahi OCC, in the beautiful surrounds of the Nelson Lakes National Park. We welcome paddlers from the South Island and beyond, and as well as fantastic competitive paddling for rangatahi, novices and all age groups in OC6, singles and doubles, it’s a tremendous social occasion.

The whole club mobilises to put as many crews as possible on the water as well as providing volunteers to run the event.

This race is being sanctioned with Waka Ama NZ and panui will be published on the Waka ama Event Calendar.

Club Waka Allocation

For Maitahi cclub members who wish to reserve a waka to race in at this race you will need to let the race director know.

Registration of Interest : 1st December 2024
Payment Date Opens : 1st December 2024
Waka allocation starts: 8th January 2025

Club Rigging & Transport

De-rig and loading : Thursday 19th February 5.30pm
Race rigging : Friday 20th February on arrival/as crew available
Race de-rig/load : After last race on Saturday 21st
Unload and re-rig : Sunday 22nd February 3.00pm
