Kia ora team
We have been busy engraving radios, numbering them and getting them set up in the radio room. The chargers have been screwed down to the shelf to reduce the wear and tear on the connections.
The Intentions Sheet has been updated to include a column to log the radio number (found on the back of the radio) and a column as a reminder to return the radio back to its charger. Please remember to give your radio a quick rinse before recharging.
Any incidents or maintenance issues should be logged through our online portal on the Club website. We are no longer keeping a separate book. This does not have to be just from the steerer so please encourage everyone to log a report as they see fit.
All safety bags should go out with 4 flares, 2x smoke and 2x pinpoint red. Why so many flares you ask? Safety in numbers and just in case you get a dud!
If you are taking a radio for use other than paddling, please let us know so we don’t start chasing crews.
If you have any feedback or questions regarding any of these changes please let anyone on the Committee know.
