TEHA Fundraiser volunteers needed

Maitahi OCC’s major fund raising event of the year is fast approaching. Tuna e Hoe Ana on 9th and 10th February 2024 at Kerr Bay, St Arnaud relies on volunteer club members to fill a variety of roles to get the event up and running. We need time-keepers, ramp marshals, safety checkers, kitchen hands etc etc.

Each year we seem to limp by with most positions understaffed. Although we want people to enjoy the racing and enter teams, we do need a certain number of club members to give up their weekend, or just one of the days, to come up to St Arnaud and help run the event. Roles such as timekeepers become very difficult to manage when the timekeepers have to chop and change every race to accommodate club members who are racing, so if you can give up the whole day(s) you will be eligible for a free bunk at Red Deer Lodge on Friday and Saturday nights and a meal at the event dinner at Rotoiti Hall after racing on Saturday. We also still need club members who are racing to volunteer their free time off the water to help out.

If you can volunteer for the event please contact Eva by email on [email protected] . As well as contributing to raising the funds that help buy new equipment and keep the club running, you will have a great deal of fun and meet loads of paddlers from other clubs.
