Starts 10.00. Finishes around 12.00
The Maitahi calendar is filling up fast ! This is a rearranged event from January when the weather refused to play ball.
Our primary aim was ( and probably still is) to get our tamariki and rangatahi down to Tahunanui to fly the ama in the six man waka (and do some huli practice as consequence) and have a go in singles and doubles thanks to some of the kind club owners.
But we thought we might as well throw that offer open to all our club members and anyone who happens to be wandering along the beach and wants to have a go.
With a lot of events happening one after the other at the moment, human resources are being stretched a bit thin but we will have enough people on hand to take the kids and adults out, do some ama flying and maybe even rustle up a few BBQ sausages.
Be prepared to get wet. The water is still lovely and warm.
We will probably have to ask some of the Saturday crews to repeat their Halberg Day (this Saturday 18th) kindness and drop a couple of sixes at the beach. Fingers crossed for some sunshine.
Its never too early or too late to start paddling waka ama
We always welcome new members to the Maitahi Outrigger Canoe Club.
We have social and racing waka ama crews catering for a wide variety of ages and abilities.
